Greetings Cards!

Just wanted send a shout out to all those responsible for the MHS Fab Four reunion on October 17 and 18 at the DFW Marriott in Irving.

The meet and greet on Friday night was awesome!  A really big crowd showed up and some of the Irving class of ‘69ers even stopped by to say hello (they were having their 45th Reunion at the same hotel that weekend).

Janet Schuler Powell, Dolores Salis and Debbie Doughty were greeters and managed to get addresses and emails as people filtered in.  Our website is a GREAT tool for staying connected, but there are only 200 registered members (out of over 500 students) and some of our classmates do not use email as a means of communication.  We are ALWAYS interested in finding people from our class.  The website allows for any member to email someone letting them know they have been invited to join.  Keep this in mind when you run on to a classmate.  Ask them if they have joined and if not, get their email address and enter it so they get the invite to do so.

The Reunion on Saturday night was also well attended.  Greg Lunce and Steve Milsap, the Master Cylinder Band played a wide array of music and although folks were slow to get their grove on when it came to the dance floor, eventually they did.  From all accounts, it was a great evening of fun, renewed friendships and lots of laughs.  Thanks to everyone who attended and to all whose hard work paid off to make it successful.

Please remember, the class of 1970 will have their 45th Reunion next year and we are already entertaining ideas on what we want to do.  If you are interested in helping plan it, we would love to have you.  We are leaning towards something in October – maybe something casual – outdoors and an all day and evening event.  Minimal cost will be involved.  More to come…

You can email your website administrators if you want to be involved.  The positive part of helping to plan a reunion is that you know who’s coming before they arrive and have time to look them up on the website. Just sayin’

So stay well dear friends, let us hear from you any time about anything and please be sure to post your photos on this site by creating an album.  Robert Worchester from Irving took pictures on Friday night and some of them can be viewed if you cut and paste these two links into your browser.

Be sure to scroll all the way down this page to see the two links.

Have a wonderful holiday season

I have recently decided to change careers after a full career in the apparel industry. If any of you have a current business that needs help, I need a job. My business profile is posted on if you would like to view it or you can send me a request thru LinkedIn to connect. If you would like to talk with me direct you can send a note to my personal email address or call me at 214-499-6111.

Best regards,

Marsha Billings Slate Brown passed from her life on Earth around 5:00pm on 9-11-13 from a battle with thyroid cancer! Prayers for her family would be appreciated!

A security policeman at Northlake College contacted Scott Currie. Scott said he didn't have the slightest idea how he got his name and number but the officer has found a school ring from the 1970 Class with the initials DWR in it.  It is a guys ring.   His telephone number is 972-273-3306.He asked if the website would list the information.

Hey, everyone we found out the class ring had the initials DWR, not DRW in it.  And it is a guy's ring.

Thanks to John Maynard, I have some first through third grade group photos from Barton and we are trying to identify the kids in it.  If you went to Barton, please send me a note and I'll forward them to you so you can help.

I noticed there are several yearbooks on Ebay that range from 1966 to 1971. If you know someone who has lost theirs, this might be a good source to get an extra one. Good Luck!
